Rezumite turns your resume into a personal website. To do that it has to read your resume, which has your name, contact details and work history in it. This page says exactly what happens to that information. Rezumite is run by Muntasir Arrib Ahmed in Victoria, Australia, and you can reach me at arrib@rezumite.com.

What we collect

  • Your account. Your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google or another provider.
  • Your resume. When you upload a PDF, we read the text out of it — your name, contact details, work history, education, skills and anything else on it — and turn it into the content of your site.
  • What you add or change. Edits you make, the template and colours you pick, the web address you choose, and a photo if you upload one.
  • Technical details. Like every website, our hosting provider records basic request information — your IP address, browser type and the pages requested — to run and secure the service.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Your resume file

We do not keep your PDF. It is read once to build your site and then discarded. What we keep is the text and structure taken from it, which you can see and edit in full.

To read your resume and write the short pieces of text your site needs — a headline, an introduction — the text is sent to Anthropic, an AI company in the United States, through its API. It is sent again if you ask Rezumite to rewrite some of that text. Anthropic processes it under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to train its models on what we send. See Anthropic’s privacy policy.

Your photo

If you upload a photo, it is cropped square, resized, and stripped of all its metadata — including the location a phone records when a picture is taken — before it is saved. The original file is not kept.

Where your information is kept

Your site’s content and your account record are stored in a database run by Neon, in Sydney, Australia.

Some of the services Rezumite relies on are based overseas:

  • Clerk (United States) handles sign-in and holds your account details.
  • Anthropic (United States) reads your resume, as described above.
  • Vercel hosts the website and runs its servers, and may process requests outside Australia, including in the United States.
  • Some templates load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so a visitor’s browser asks Google for them, which shares that visitor’s IP address with Google.

Each of these handles information under its own privacy policy and security practices.

Who can see your site

A new site starts as a draft, which only you can see. When you publish it, it becomes a public web page at your address, and anyone with the link can see it — including search engines, which may list it. Only publish what you are happy for anyone to read. You can edit what is on it, or delete it, at any time.

Cookies and browser storage

We use the cookies Clerk needs to keep you signed in, and your browser’s own storage to remember small things, like your place in the create flow. None of it is used to track you or to show you advertising.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your information until you delete it. You do not have to ask:

  • Delete your site from the bottom of your dashboard. It is removed for good, and its address stops working.
  • Delete your account from the account page. That removes your sites, your account record and your sign-in details.

Our providers may keep copies in their backups and logs for a limited time after deletion, under their own policies.

Your choices and rights

You can see and correct everything on your site in the editor. To ask what information we hold about you, to have something corrected, or to complain about how it has been handled, email arrib@rezumite.com. I will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Age

Rezumite is for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please do not create an account or upload a resume.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date at the top. If a change matters to how your information is used, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.

Questions about any of this go to arrib@rezumite.com. See also the privacy policy and the terms of use.
